MODALITIES

Whether you are looking for relief of muscular pain, stress relief, or plain pampering, there is a massage that fits your needs.

Swedish Massage

The basic massage for relaxation, this is a good choice if you've never had a professional massage before. Although it is not deep, the pressure can be firm if that is what you like. This is great if you are stressed-out and need a break from the real world. Improves circulation, elevates mood and lowers blood pressure.

Therapeutic Massage

Usually this is a full-body massage (as is Swedish), but with special attention, and deeper techniques on those areas that are causing you issues. For example, if your complaint is stiffness in your neck and shoulders, Extra time in those areas. Relieves muscle pain, improves range of motion, improves circulation and elevates mood.

Deep Tissue

As the name implies, this involves deeper pressure allowing access to deeper layers of muscle, rather than simply the surface muscle. This can be uncomfortable, but beginning light, and gradually increasing the pressure and slowing down the strokes as the muscle warms, usually helps. Deep Tissue should only be done if you receive frequent massages. Relieves muscle pain and improves range of motion. This massage will leave you very relaxed afterwards.

Hot Stones

Heated basalt stones are lubricated and then placed in the hands while I perform a relaxing Swedish massage. While this is not a deep massage as far as pressure is concerned, the combination of heat and massage (as well as aromatherapy if you want) is an unbeatable way to melt away your tension. This is a blissful and deeply relaxing massage. I offer this only during the cool weather season.

Chair Massage

Chair massage is a great way to experience massage in an office setting, or any setting where removing your clothing is not practical. The massage is done in a chair specially designed for maximum comfort, and you do not need to remove clothing. No oil is used.
